Palio is a seaside suburb in Municipality of Kavala, located approximately 10 km to the West. It previously consisted mainly of vacation homes, but in recent years, there has been intense building activity of both vacation and permanent homes.

Also, during the summer, there is a large increase in tourism in the area because of the amazing, pristine beaches. Almost its entire coastal area features sand beaches whereas, on the other side, the symbolic mountain stands majestically.
